Raku Firing Workshop

Bring up to four bisque pieces and explore the possibilities of raku firing. Each month, we’ll feature a different technique, giving you a new approach to try alongside our selection of raku glazes, from lustrous metallics to dramatic crackle. We’ll glaze together, fire outdoors, and watch the reveal as pieces cool.

Make it social. Bring snacks and zero-proof beverages to enjoy while we gather around the kiln, talk clay, and cheer on the pulls. You’ll leave with finished work the same day. All levels welcome.

Upcoming Monthly Techniques

NOVEMBER | Tape Resist, create lines, shapes, and patterns that reveal bold contrasts between glazed surfaces and smoke-blackened clay.

DECEMBER | Post-Firing Fuming, explore subtle colors, halos, and smoky flashes created by treating pottery fresh from the kiln.

JANUARY | Crackle Raku, discover the classic raku finish: a web of dark, smoke-filled cracks running through the glaze.

FEBRUARY | Organic & Heavy Reduction, experiment with leaves, grass, sawdust, and pine needles to create rich smoky effects and distinctive surface markings.
