Alternative Firing

At our Redmond studio, take your skills to the next level with an exploration into the world of Raku and alternative firings. This session offers a solid introduction to alternative firing techniques. Students will learn which forms are best suited for each process and will have dedicated time to create those forms in class, either through hand building or on the wheel. We will explore a hands on range of surface treatments, finishes, and firing methods including glaze raku, terra sigillata application, horsehair, obvara, naked raku, foil saggar, and barrel firing.
